It has the 5.7 hemi 1500 crewcab. It was built in September, 2008 at Warren. I really don't understand this recall because I don't have the paperwork from Chysler. The dealer said that it is software only. Hopefully someone received the notice and can shed more light on the matter. The hand written card looks like it references a 09-004 or-009 inspection is due. That is all that I know.
same here , bought as a demo 1-12-09 had the flash done last wk, got the same card about 2nd notice

I had the spark knock recall done yesterday. It is RRT-09-004. It raises the idle RPM just a bit to smooth the vibration at idle. It did not affect the harmonic vibration that I feel from 1000-1400 rpm.

Dr. Bill, this is the PCM flash that Savage posted about in the vibration thread. Here is what he said:

WVU pm'd me about this. i figured id reply here so everyone else can know also.
TSB only applies to vehicles built BEFORE 10-3-08.
Some customers may experience:
·
NVH issues while the vehicle is operating in the MDS mode.

· Spark Knock between 1800 to 2500 RPM.
repair is to flash PCM w/ updated software.

second TSB for slightly rough idle, applies to vehicles built BEFORE 10-3-08:
Some customers may complain of the idle quaility after the vehicle is warmed up. This
condition can happen while the vehicle is in park, neutral, drive or reverse with no
additional throttle tip in. A software change has been made to the increase the warm
nominal idle speed from 584 rpm to 648 rpm, which corrects the condition.
If the vehicle owner complains of this issue reprogram the PCM with the new software.
I agree, it did not cure the slight vibration in my truck either.

I went to my dealer and my service guy didn't know about this and couldn't find anything about it when I brought it up... Is there something I can tell him to help him look for it? I dont' want my engine to be knocking from the factory!

If your truck is built after a certain date it may already have the flash direct from the factory.

It was one of the first to be built... 8/23/08 or something like that.

Mine was built 10/2008. Should it need this? Also Hemi Crew 5.7.
