Default 09's not selling

From what I understand the 2009 Ram 1500's aren't selling at all. Do you htink in a few months there will be better deals on them?

That would be the one way that I'd sell my truck, but I couldn't afford insurance on it.
They'll either have to give good deals on them, or not sell them at all.

I would bet a lot of people are tired of being told to buy when a lot of us still have 3rd generation Rams to pay for, this is not just for trucks, but for cars as well, you would be crazy to buy anything new, if you don't need to.

My 06 is paid for, I'm taking a bend over session if I trade it in on a 09, than I'm getting bent over again with the increase in car insurance and depracation on the 09.

If you need a new truck, the 09 Ram is worth looking at, but money is always better in your pocket.

I just bought my 09 last weekend. However I will agree they are not selling. Since they have been on the market last fall, I have seen maybe 4-5 here in the St. Louis area (at least the areas I'm around in). There are a lot of Dodge trucks in this area too, especially since a local plant builds them.

I understand the market is in the crapper and everything, but if people were to simply drive this truck (especially current Ram owners) I think that it would be difficult for them to walk away. It is that good of a truck, and is a night and day difference from previous generations. The Gen II 5.7, while being more powerful, is smoother and quieter than the previous version. The ride is phenomenal, that's the best way I know to describe it. I had a Charger R/T with the 5.7 and it wasn't anywhere near as quiet and smooth as this generation HEMI is, and the 09 Ram's ride matches it (if not beats it) for ride quality.

I'm thinking they sold quite a few during this latest round of incentives. Admittedly it's why I bought one. $11,000 under MSRP was just too good to pass up. I never would have paid $40k for a truck. They are nice, but not that nice. I'd buy a Challenger SRT8 before I dished that out. However, suddenly dropping the price to $29k...well, it's now sitting in my garage.

The way I see it is like this. The chances of them being marked down this far again are slim. The reason I say that is because if they do, it will be a going out of business sale. They simply can't keep selling vehicles discounted this drastically and still survive.

Oh, for what it's worth, my insurance is within $2 a month with the 09 Ram compared to my 06 Charger.

That's a good way to look at it. Whatever I get for my first modded truck, I want to keep for a while. A new one would be pretty low mileage after a few years. Unfortunately, it would be a 2 door and not a 4 door.

my insurance went up 3$ a month or so from my switch from the SRT-4 neon. that car is the third highest car to insure in the country. it was a 2004 though, and only worth 8k$.

there are three dealers in des moines that are all within 30 miles of each other and they each have something like 60 trucks on the lot. i pitted two dealers against each other for the deal i got.

it is a gamble to wait. you never know what they have planned.

Dodge must have lowered the inventory a bit because some of the incentives have been lowered or gone. I will say that if you don't want to buy a new truck, don't drive the Dodge. Go drive the new Ford because it is just another truck.

Why? Because Ford has better deals?

No, because the Ford is nothing special at all, just another truck. You won't even want to buy it. It is more expensive than the Dodge. I don't have a clue how they are going to sell it other than some Ford lover.

Oh I got that other post. I read it quickly and thought you meant something else. I see what you really meant...If you drive the Dodge you'll want to buy it.
