I just hope they will have some specials going or desperation to sell these trucks by the time I get back from Iraq!

Unfortunately Dr. Bill, I was one of those misfortunate ones that test drove a Laramie model before I left!

I WANT ONE!!!!

I'm not here to bitch or complain, my working life is one pay check away from a impending lay off, I don't know if I'm keeping my job a month from now, or a week from now, So I better buckel down and be smart with my money.

I'm no one special, a lot of people in Canada and the US. are in my perdictament. I still go looking at the New Rams, Challengers and Chargers when the dealers are closed.

The real world and the sales world are no where close, Dodge is not going to build a Ram for a blow out price, they would save more by clossing shop for a while vers building mass voulmes of trucks.

The biggest problem is the world econmomy has gone from rapid inflation to rapid deflation, Big time players in the stock market ( who drive speculation ) have lost big time, as a resault, the avergae working person who has not been $$$$ responsable is up the creak with no *** wipe.

Its not just dodge that is suffering from low sales, all the brands are in trouble, Greed and over pricing and want for new are paid by the consumer.

If you can afford a new Ram, by all means get out thier and swing your deal !!!

Just for information sake, Maclin Ford in Calgary Alberta has a 09 F450 Harley Davidson crew cab long box dual wheals for $75,000 CDN !!! Now I Hate Ford, but I don't know any body who has the kind of money !!!!

For sh*ts and giggles, I looked at the prices of the '09s in my area today at our local Dodge dealer. They still haven't lowered the price at all on them. All up in the $40K range. They won't discount them like some people have gotten until they go out of business. Even then, it won't be until the last store goes under, because they are the local dealer for all makes, and have dealerships all over.

There are more than enough dealers around willing to wheel and deal on these trucks. If you can't find one, move to another. The way I see it is it's worth driving 100-200 miles even if the deal is right. Employee discount alone is worth $5k or more under MSRP on these trucks depending on model (the more expensive the bigger discount). I don't know why a dealer would refuse to offer the employee discount. Nothing is coming out of their pocket, it's all Chrysler.

I did see where Chrysler is rewarding the dealerships that are participating by offering up even more incentives to those dealerships (from Chrysler to the dealer themselves) when they sell a vehicle.

They are still the same price here too. I talked to a dealer out at Ozark Dodge, and most of the dealerships are not going to change the price of the ram (only the sticker price I mean) mainly in hope for the poor idiot that has a lot of money, very low common sense. I have seen people walk straight into a dealership, tell a dealer what they want (usually its right on the lot) and not negotiate one bit. Its like they are happy to pay full over priced retail.
I have been watching the new rams, and if everything goes to plan I will have one by the end of march... I hope my luck is in order...
I may be young and this might be one of the worst calls in my life, but damn it, I will have the cash loan free and lets face it... the new rams are bad ***.

I wonder if the old Cash game still works? My granddad was a firm believer in this type of negotiating. He would walk into a dealership already knowing what he wanted, tell the dealer what he was looking at, and then he would start laying $100 bills on the table. He told the dealer he could tell him to stop or he would keep going until he reached his own limit.
He bought both of my 2nd gen trucks for one hell of a deal.
hmm...

Come to our dealership once, you'll realize the reason that Dodge dealerships have such a bad reputation. I wish I was a little older so I could afford one.
I've thought about how I would need to work a deal in order to afford one, and this is about how it would need to work. Find a nice 2 door short bed. Get $12-15K for my truck (not quite what it's worth. I paid 15K for it. Talk the dealer down to taking over my loan and then taking the rest off of the truck. This truck which they are willing to sell me for $14k-what I get after my loan is paid. That way I could get a loan for it, and take what I get after my truck is and put that on the truck. Hopefully have a $8-10k loan, then I could afford that. I wouldn't be able to afford full coverage like I do now, because it would really cost me out the a**.

It is nice having the only 09 around and I live in the DFW metroplex with 4 million people! I may see one other each day, but usually not. I really loved my 02 quad and almost did not buy my 09 crew, but it was a good deal. After reading the other postings, I am thinking that I got a great deal. I bought a sport crew only missing the nav for $24,400. It stickered for $40K. It was the last day of 2008 and they kept lowering the price until I bought it. I guess it was right place, right time. On the cash buying statement, anytime you buy a vehicle, it is cash to the dealer. It does not matter if it is your check or the finance company's check. As a matter of fact, I got another $1K off for financing through a local credit union that I was not even a member of. I was going to write a check, but hey another grand off. The did tell me that I had to wait until the 4th payment to pay it off or the credit union would back charge them for the grand.

Not here. Mine was going to be liability only, but my mom persuaded me to get full coverage on it since it was such a new and nice truck. My brother had liability only on his truck and he had a loan on it. I always thought you needed full coverage, but don't here, at least to my understanding.
