Just bought a new 09 1500 with the Sport package and while I love the interior, the added horsepower and better ride, the transmission is what I really liked right off the bat. I also own an 03 1500 with the 5.7 Hemi but you have to really mash that pedal down to get it to down shift (Im not just talking about passing but climbing or merging). The new truck shifts much more intuitively in that it does not require such drastic input at the pedal. I bought one with the console and love the electronic manual shifting capability as well. I checked out Ford, Chevy, GMC and Toyota but the new Dodge improvements really stand out and set it aside from the others. Anyway, just thought I would pass that on.

I did not intend on driving away with a new one but since they were offering employee pricing, 0% interest and even took a few thousand more off and gave me what I asked for on my 02 G2 Mustang, I could not say no.

 

sounds like my deal. i had no intentions of buying a new one but i wanted to see the deal they could offer me.

Congrats! The transmission is pretty good, I agree. Too bad they don't have a nice 6 or 7 speed out yet though. If they (Chrysler) survive long enough, I think it's coming.
