Default Leather or Cloth interior

I'm planning on buying a new sport and can't decide on the interior. Should I go with the leather or cloth? I plan to keep the truck along time. I noticed on the cloth seats the the edges and sides have a vinyl type material, how does this hold up?

Thanks for the input.

Cloth holds up much better than leather. I hate leather, but I did buy a sport that has the leather trim, but only because it was a great deal on a 3000 mile demo. Mine has the cloth sitting areas. The perforated leather in the 09 has been having some serious problems with stretching, (read forums here). I don't really care for the sport cloth because it is very coarse and not sheared. I am concerned that it will snag and pull. The black leather of the sport also scratches easily. The longest lasting interior is sheared cloth like the Ram had until about 06. I would not recommend the perforated leather at this time. I certainly would not pay more for it!

my wife's pacifica is leather, but it is solid and very nicely done. i don't know if i would want leather in a truck though. the cloth interiors are meant to last. i would not pay more for it either.

I also could not decide between the cloth or leather seats for my sport. I went with the cloth that have a vinyl trim. These seats are great to ride in. I have no regrets ordering the truck with them and saved a lot of $$

Twist,
Good choice. I have the same seats in my sport, but just assumed that the vinyl was leather. You are probably correct about the vinyl because that would not really be a "sitting area" LOL. Is there any leather in our interiors or are the smooth areas vinyl?

I like the cloth and vinyl seats that come standard on the sport models. They're way better than the standard cloth you get in an SLT. I almost got a sport, but I was torn because I really wanted the bench seat in the front. I just thought that the center console was too big. I like my space and its always nice to have the extra seating option. The dealer gave me a deal on a Laramie with the leather bench seat that I could not refuse. I love it. To each his own I guess. Either choice you make, you should be happy with it.

I have the sport with the perforated leather seating. I always shyed away from leather because of hot in summer, cold in winter but my seats are heated and cooled. I love the seats I have but have not had any of the problems that others are reporting with stretching and such. I have about 3000 miles on my truck and the seats look brand new. I also weight just over 300lbs and haven't had any problems. I think somewhere between the pre release trucks and post release dodge switched leather suppliers and I think it has caused a lot of problems for some. If it hadn't been for the heating and cooling in the seats I would have gotten the cloth. Jeff.

jram, what's the date code on your truck? I think we need to get this clarified quick for those that use this info for a new purchase.
