Default Exhaust done

Just got my exhaust done yesterday and WOW......
I installed 2.5" pipe with 3.5" tips and the flowmaster original 40 and it sounds amazing. It's very loud but deep and throaty and the best part is that it quiets down so much when MDS kicks in you can barely hear it. This means no more annoying highway cruises with exhaust resonating in the cab.

I'll post some pics another day when i get a chance to wash it, i also blacked out the tint last week.

Nice! How much did the setup run ya? If you do not mind me asking? See if you can attach a sound wav as well if you can that it.

Are you able to notice any performance increase?

The setup run me $400 total but it wasnt a premade system which are overpriced. The pipe is really easy to run on these trucks and any exhaust shop can do it cheap.

I too was paranoid about the MDS but let me set this straight from first hand experience. The truck never sounds like a ricer and doesnt really change tone, the volume of the exhaust quiets down as if you shifted up and were in a lower rpm range. I have driven the truck alot since the exhaust and never once did the mds kicking in bother me and i'm pretty critical about how my vehicles sound. i hope the clears up the anxiety regarding the mds and aftermarket exhaust

As far as performance increase, it did open her up and seems quicker but that could also be the exhaust playing tricks on my mind, without a dyno test i'm not going to say yes. Maybe wasn't what you wanted to hear but i dont want to fool you....

I'll try and throw a vid and some pics on here when i get the chance

i am pretty sure higher toned ricer sound comes from smaller pistons. we don't have to worry about that.

op, a sound clip would be nice if you can get one.

bigred3297- thank you for a straight forward answer! every other forum i am on nobody would just answer the damn question. did you keep any resonator? i think i am going to pull the trigger on a new setup myself. i miss the sound of my '99 360 with flowmaster 40 si/do with a magnaflow high flow cat...

no problem on the answer and i removed the resonator along with the stock muffler, there's nothing but the flowmaster muffler behind the stock cats up front and i installed that beneath the bed near the rear to keep as much sound out of the cab as possible.
