Is there a Lifetime Extended Warranty?
Asking for more out of a life time power train warranty is like adding 5 to infinity. The warranty is good for life as long as the vehicle is inspected every five years. There is no year or mileage limit.
copied my post from thread about max care:
there is a lifetime max care service contract that you can buy. i know you have the choice of buying the contract w/ 100 or 0 deduct, heard a few times of a 50 deduct. your deductable amount obviously determines the price of the contract. i got the lifetime max w/ 100 deduct at my employee price (WELL worth it).
as a chysler/dodge technician, i can say that max care is the way to go, trust me. especially if you can be gaurentied a good deal on one. ive given so many many repair quotes that have been a few thousand dollars. those certain repairs wouldve been under warranty if they had a contract. at minimum, i recommend NO LESS than the extended powertrain. granted, the new vehicles have it for life, but not on diesels or SRT's. if you have an older vehicle (down to 06 i believe) and are still under your basic 3/36, you should still be able to buy a contract.
WARRANTY COVERAGES
powertrain: engine, trans, axles, driveshafts & u-joints, and i believe engine sensors/solenoids (EGR, AMP, CKP...). hard to remember that last one, as i am pretty much bumper to bumper tech, and my memory sucks.
max care: covers everything except wearable items. wearable items are brake pads, belts, manual trans clutch, lights, leather, carpet, glass, paint... one issue ive dealt w/ a few times is collateral damage. I.E.: a pulley fails (warranty) and takes out the serp belt (no warranty). the belt should theoreticly be covered, since it was damaged by a warrantyablr part. my boss wont do it (no *****). someone else might have better luck at their dealer.
or a caliper fails and severely takes out a pad and maybe rotor, when the rest of them are ok.
hope this clears up any confusion, and helps anyone thinking about getting a service contract.

I think the key word here is Lifetime! Are we talking about my lifetime or Dodges? In this economy, I might be around longer than Dodge. Man I hope Chrysler/Dodge makes it through the bad times, I just can't imagine having to drive another brand of truck. Even got my Cheby wife wanting to trade in her Honda for a Charger. She's never had any brand loyalty but she really like my 09 and she really wants a Charger. Wish we could afford to loose the money on the Honda to get her one but will have to wait for awhile. Jeff.

Good point about "Lifetime" and how our Dodges may out live the company.
I heard from a source at Nissan that the two company's combine resources
such as building certain platforms at Chrysler plants, what exactly I don't recall but at least it's a good sign. I believe that it was also mentioned
about a Nissan being built on a Chrysler platform or vice versa.
Then again for all I know this may have ben going on for a while?
