I have used Mobil 1 in my past 3 vehicles and believe it's a great oil. However for my truck I'm switching to the Valvoline Synpower Synthetic oil. It's over $4 a 5qt jug cheaper than Mobil 1 and I'm sure is still a good quality oil.

Buy whatever oil is on sale, but stay with the brand names not store brand. Mineral base or synthetic is up to you. IMO, the best oil for the money is Motorcraft Synthetic Blend. You can get it at Walmart and most auto supply stores. It is made by Conoco.

I just put Mobil 1 Synthetic in my 09 today. I haven't read that there's anything wrong with using synthetic.

I plan to use a good dino 5W20 oil, maybe a synthetic blend. I doubt if I will go with a full synthetic. I will stick with every 3,000 miles or 6 months whichever comes first. I have done this on every vehicle I've owned. Never had an engine problem.

If I'm interpreting the manual correctly which states, " Synthetic Engine Oils, You may use synthetic engine oils if the recommended oil quality requirements are met and the recommended maintenance intervals for oil and filter changes are followed." I believe the interval refers to what Dodge recommends and not what the oil calls for. You would need to stick to the recommended minimum oil change interval of every 6,000 miles or six months to maintain the warranty. IMO the extra expense for synthetic is not worth it if the manual is followed.
