Default Rapid Response

Got a call from my dealer saying the muffler on my 09ram has to be replaced. I asked him if this was a recall, he said it was a rapid response to a problem dodge has run across. The baffles in muffler are comming loose and cloging the eexhaust system. Nothing on dodge website about recall or rapid response. My truck was built in late august. Wonder if new muffler will change exhaust tone.

I wonder if there is a certain build date that this affects? My truck was built in October 08 and I haven't got a call as of yet.

the RRT only applies to factory "quiet" dual exhaust (non sport ones). the muffler gets replaced under warranty.

Since I have an SLT Big Horn package I assume this means I have the "quiet" muffler and need to get this taken care of then. Dang...looks like a trip to the dealership is on order! Oh well, I needed to take it in again anyway.

I'm pretty sure the dual exhaust is the same on all trucks, be it a Lone Star, Sport, or Laramie. The muffler is different for the single exhausts.

Nope, Sport has "aggressive" designation, all others have "mellow" tone according to Dodge Ram factory site.
