I just bought new dodge caravan 2009 my gig REN after i bought it just week after i installed u connect through same dealer mopar product. I can make & receive calls through u connect but not able too download my phone book to my gig. And some of ph. no not reconized to u connect even i repeated so many times with normal voice
Any my touch screen stop working. I don't know what happened.

 

Only the RER's allow you to download your phone book automatically, I think it is because the add on for the REN only allows 32 phone book entries and they have to be put in manually. I don't know if they have to match the phone book entries as long as the number is correct? not sure.

 

72combo, that is not correct.

I had 1,300+ entries in my phone's phonebook. My REN radio told me "phonebook truncated after 1,000 entries."

So, one, the REN does download your phonebook automatically (if your phone supports that), and, two, it will hold up to 1,000 entries.

 

The REN in my truck had 9.214. It worked fine with my Blackberry Storm 9530.

I just updated it to 9.292, and it still seems to work fine.

 

That's correct, in fact the RER's latest update now gives them a little icon to tell them what the Bluetooth connection is doing, such as downloading the address book. I have the REN, and it has no icons whatsoever, so I just have to wait a period before trying to make a call after starting the truck. Half the time I don't wait long enough and instead of finding the entry I asked for, I get the "Dial 0732, is that correct?" So I wait another few seconds and try again and the entries are there.

 

You are right mine downloaded the phone book on its own I didn't notice.
