I had a clunk, it would happen when I first started to move after the truck sat, only when it was really cold. It has not done it since.

I have the 3.92 limited slip with 3700 miles. Mine has done the thud after stopping since day 1 and continues to do it regularly. It will also do it occasionally when I'm backing out of my driveway in the first 10 feet of movement. Sure is a weird thud.

What size fuel tank do you guys with the thud have? I've had trucks / vans that did the samething, turns out it was fuel slosh. Pay attention to fuel level. Usually happens with 3/4+ tank or so. It's not hurting anything, just the fuel moving around in the tank.

Some of ours only did it once when we first started driving it. Would the fuel sloshing around happen all of the time?

sounds like a number of different sounds with different causes. A thunk right after your first feet of movement is probably the ABS system testing the pump.

a slightly different clunk when starting out after a stop is likely slip yoke binding slightly and releasing, common in new vehicles till a tiny bit of wear comes and grease distributes itself.

If a 'clunk' comes while turning, could be the result of a limited slip differential just being not as smooth as an open. That's the price one pays for that type of differential.

edit-forget what I originally said regarding mds, I may be misinterpreting things there.

RPMs fluctuating under low throttle sounds like mds kicking in and out. Mine does it and I can tell it occurs when the MDS kicks in and out. Giving it more gas makes it stop because that kicks you out of mds. If you manually shift your gears or use tow-haul (either thing that disables MDS) you won't see it. At least that's how mine acts.
That was probably the reason for mine. It is gone now.
