The one with the camera does come with the lock. You still have to purchase the locking control unit to go with that to actually make it lock. Its another 45 bucks for that part.

So it comes with a lock and key? You just can't hook it up to actually lock? The reason I ask is b/c I plan on buying the backup cam tailgate handle, but I won't have a need for the lock unless I decide to get a cover and I'm curious as to how it will look.

Has anyone installed one of these yet? How does it get the lock/unlock signal?

kit instructions tell you to splice into TIPM wires controlling passenger rear door. obviously a problem if you have a RC truck as there will be no passenger rear door wires. wires can be spliced into other doors if need be.

TIPM??

Where would you make this splice? Somewhere in the cab? Outside the cab?

On my ARE tonneau they spliced into the fuse panel under the dash with the included wire harness. It has electric locks and dome light. It works off the key fob and the door switches.

TIPM module underhood in front of battery. TIPM controls A LOT of what the vehicle does and when it does.
