Anyone Unlock Video in Motion w/out a Lockpick
Has anyone found a way to unlock video in motion without a lockpick? I've decided I'm going to order the new tailgate handle assembly with lock & camera, and that can be installed without the need for a lockpick. So, the only other useful feature from the lockpick is the ability to unlock video in motion, so that my wife can watch DVDs on longer drives. But with a lockpick setting me back $300 - that's a lot of money to use functionality that's already in there. She might as well sit a portable DVD player on her lap for $300.
Has anyone come up with a way to enable this? Can a dealer do it if convinced to do so?

Don't have nav. I always know where I'm going and have GPS enabled Google Maps on my Bold just in case. And if I'm going somewhere and I don't know how to get there then I always grab TomTom.
I just want to be able to actually use the DVD capability built into my unit.

I live in a state where apparently it's legal, however I've called 4 dealers and they all said it was impossible - not that they wouldn't do it.
Exactly. How about an answer from someone who works at a dealership?

I guess previous mygig system were able to play video by keeping it in park and pressing the audio button and driving off. Hopefully someone will figuir out a glitch as i have been trying myself for a few days now. I am pressing and holding random buttons. I will also investigate and report back.

If someone is in another state where front seat video is permitted they can have the dealer use their StarScan tool to enable the video feature. However, video in motion will still not work. Video in motion is not an option that the dealer can turn on or off, regardless of what state they are in.
The only way to have MyGIG front seat video while in motion is to purchase an aftermarket product such as the AllGIG from NAV-TV or the other aftermarket product that was mentioned.
One version of the MyGIG did have a bug where a combination of buttons enabled the front seat video until the vehicle was turned back off. It was fixed in later versions. You Tube how-to videos can probably be found.
