Nothin' wrong with a bit 'o glitter with some get up & go to back it up! This filter can handle some serious air.

Truth be told everyone on here can argue till they're blue in the face on which intake is better or which programmer has more gains but until there are factual results that can be compared side by side it's all theorization and peeing contests.
With so few options right now i would personally wait to see what comes out, but if you have to have one now, go with whichever you think is best, whichever you can justify in your own head was worth the money...We ALL know that's what matters

The funny part to me is, I wish ANY of these were big enough for my dually. I run a filter used on some 18 wheelers (referred to as the bhaf by diesel dodge folks) and it's not really enough anymore. It pulls more air at 3000 rpm than just about any late model hemi does against the rev limiter.

If this will fit our intake duct, it might be worth trying on a hemi. The only downside is that it would be hot air getting ingested.

In most cases all of the CAI's are going to be very close to one another in power gains, unless they use a duct or ram air system to direct outside air to the filter. Once the truck is moving I don't think the heat shield makes a damn bit of difference with plenty of air flowing in the engine compartment. Several guys on here have stated they had good power gains with true flow and increased mpg, so if you want more than that you are asking too much from a tube and a filter.

Update: I received my Airaid MXP and installed it on Saturday afternoon. Installation was straight forward and took around 50 minutes. I agree with other comments that the seal is kind of cheap and could have been better. Also, the opening that is supposed to match up with the opening in the fender doesn't. I don't know what the opening on the 08 fender well looks like, but it appears that Airaid didn't redesign the air inlet to match the hole on the 09. So on mine, part of the plastic housing doesn't align with the top side of the opening.

I happened to be on empty at the time of install so I went and filled up and reset the mileage indicator. Immediately after leaving the gas station the MPG indicator dropped to around 11.2. I don't have a whole lot of miles on it since the fillup, but the MPG is still only at 13.7. This is a mix of stop and go and short freeway hops. I will report again after this tank of gas. My previous experience with the MPG indicator after filling up is that it jumps up to around 19 MPG initially and then settles back down to it's normal for my driving style value of 15 MPG. Hopefully it gets to where I would expect and then some.

As for performance, it is definitely louder in the cab. It also does seem to be a bit more responsive. So, for the two reasons I bought it, better mileage and sharper throttle response only the throttle response is OK. I think the mileage will get there, it is slowly coming up.
