Resonator/Muffler
Hey gang
I'm trying to avoid putting on a full cat-back or exhaust kit, which includes a muffler right now. I wanted to know if anyone knows the following:
There is a resonator in the rear right before the tailpipe, can this be removed?
What type of difference will i hear, my goal is to get JUST A TAD bit louder sound as the Mrs's does not want this truck to be very loud. Don't get me wrong, i love the sound of a V8 rumble through a good exhaust, but cant do that right now
So, has anyone pulled this piece yet, and of so, big difference, mild, other
Thanks

$250 gets ya from stock to WFO (or anything in between) in less than 4 seconds with the flick of a switch. SOUND is nothing short of spectacular! Slice out 9" of stock pipe...NO weld install with stretch stainless band clamps.

anyone taken it off
PS, bountyhuner, that setup looks really nice man.
You can see in the pic it's mounted as forward as possible...beside the transfer case, basically under the passenger seat.
The stock muffler is a power killin' hunk of scrap...the rear resonator is a useless POS.

That is too cool.

Well he wasn't asking for a turndown cutout exhaust pipe, the Mrs' would definitely realize what you've done. To answer your question, yes you will have a slight increase in sound over stock with the resonator removed and it would be economical.
Every post feels like bountyhunter is crammin another product down my throat. I don't want your exhaust, intake, or "hot" reflash
.......if anybody does they can click the links at the bottom of your signature.

I had dual 3in DHM electric cutouts on my last truck. First couple months loved it, but then after awhile you will notice that it will shift over a period of time due to driving and the bolts being able to move out of adjustment. This will allow for it not to close properly. On top of that for the first 6months it was great, but you will get an exhaust leak later on. Also everytime you wash your truck you better make sure you clean the cutout too. Grime likes to build up. I personaly would not put one on my new ram. Don't get me wrong there a nice gadget, but they are really made to put before your cat. It will most likely throw a code on these new trucks doing that, but i had a scanner that I use to wipe the code clean after when I did finally install them before the cats.
I wouldn't mind getting a system from borla exhaust! Can't wait till they come out. Talkin about a sweet humble hemi sound!!!!!!
