I am having the same dilemma myself. One problem I had with a chevy truck I owned (with a drop in liner) was that I rattled. My new Ram is so quiet and the thought of the liner rattling around is not appealing. I am leaning towards a spray in liner because I plan on doing a lot of saltwater fishing/boating. The few times that I peaked under my old bed liner it looked pretty nasty, lots of dirt, water, rust spots and wear from rubbing.

Find you a Line X dealer and don't look back.

Do yourself a favor and absolutly ignore whoever recommended the Herculiner. That's kinda on the same lines as painting your truck with a brush and interior/exterior house paint. It won't stick long term and will never look as well as a good quality spray on.

+1 i've used the herculiner and it's nowhere near the same quality as a professional job, the key is the heat baking to really cure it. I would recommend LineX or Rhino..

I just had Line-X spray-in liner done on my truck and it looks great! I had a Rhino on one of my other trucks and noticed that the Rhino is grippier than the Line-X. But I've noticed that the quality(the texture pattern) of the Rhino varies from shop to shop, where as the Line-X is more consistant.

I got mine done for $425 and that was with a $30 coupon I found online. I didn't go over the rails since my truck has the plastic bed rail protectors, but that price included going over the rail at the front of the bed.

Granted, over time the liner will fade, but you can revive it with any tire detailing spray or some outfits have a liner restorer that can make the liner look like new.

I am going to get a spray in eventually. I don't care if it fades a little either, the good ones come with warranties. Even if it did fade and I left it, it is in the bed of the truck that most people won't see.

I have a 1 piece under rail drop in (aftermarket). Have not noticed any rattling at all. With sprayins and bedrugs all the rage now, the drop in manufacturers have really stepped up their game with fit quality and non-skid coatings. Better the fit, less rattles and wear. I will likely pull it at the end of summer to clean underneath and address any wear spots. I like drop ins for the cost, and the best dent protection out there. But, I tend to be much more abusive to my bed than the average guy.
