Did one of you install a Valentine v1 and connect the wire directly somewhere inside the overhead console?

I hardwired one into my old car. I put a fused bus from the fuse box under the dash for the power source for the detector and other things. I popped the trim off next to the windshield and ran the wire up, then ran it inside the headliner. The radar detector was 10" or so below the headliner and only 10" of wire showed.
