Chrome Clad No More.... New Truck
To be honest I just didn't care for all the chrome. Then I found out that the wheels weren't real chrome and one phone call....... and went from there.... really I was just looking to swap the wheels and they said they couldn't do it but they could swap the whole truck...
Congrats on the new truck. That is the exact truck that I wanted, ... a black TRX with the two tone paint. But I couldn't get leather seats in a TRX, so I found a black Laramie with 3.92s and the limited slip, and changed the suspension to be the same as a TRX.
What did you do to the suspension to make it like a TRX?
I'm a fan of the TRX and am still on the fence between them and the Sport. With the good stuff in both, the Sport is essentially $1200-$1500 more in bottom line dollars. The big difference is in the interior: gotta love the stiched dash and nicer seats! Plus the dual exhaust is great.
On the TRX, I'm not a fan of the painted grill, but I love the mineral gray two tone. I'm not a huge 20's fan, but after seeing so many 20's for these past few years, the 17's seem too small; I wish they had 18's, that would be about perfect.
The difference between the TRX suspension and the other models is a spacer that is on top of the shock struts of the TRX. The spacer is about an inch and a quarter thick, and adds two inches of height along with a more level stance. You can buy a spacer off ebay for $77. It was a lot cheaper to add the spacer to my Laramie than it would have been to add leather seats to a TRX.
