when to buy a ram?
I was thinking about something, if they do not honour warranties, I won't honour payments, I put nothing down got 18 grand off got my employee money from the last contract still didnt use it so that helped. So right now I have absolutely nothing into this in fact the dealer took over my lease car. So I am not in bad shape yet.
I know that Navy Federal Credit Union holds my title. If I don't pay them for the truck, warranty or not, they are coming for it with a flat bed.
Ok so my bank will, I am retired, I will be from what I hear because GM was allowed to underfund the pension fund in Canada cuz our gov thought oh they are just having a hard time they are huge they will never go under. So did the provincial gov do the same so now we are looking at what were "guaranteed" pensions we are gonna get screwed I am disabled and if I lose benefits too I will be bankrupt so who cares I will deliver it to wherever they like, no need to tow, why screw it up for the person who buys it.
IMO, the deals will get better in May & June, when they do the summer sales drive or whatever they call it. The monetary deals were ridiculous in March in some parts of the country, Detroit in particular had about $5500 in rebates above the EP. The rebates weren't as good in most other parts of the country, they were around $2500. In Detroit, I saw $13,000 off in online advertising, which is huge.
But, the financing was crap: 0% for 36 months is great if you have a huge downpayment or trade-in, but for most it doesn't work. Now we are up to 0% for 48 months, which is getting better... In May or June, I think we'll see 0% for 60 months, which is great! I'd gladly give up EP for the 0% for 60 months. EP gets you around $1000 below invoice, but 0% for 60 saves you about $5K in interest!
Look back to last summer, here in upstate NY, they had $4K in rebates and you could buy at essentially invoice, plus 0% for 72, so you could get about $9K off and then the financing. My dealer said 0 for 72 will never come again, but 0 for 60 might. Plus the '09s have more markup than the '08's.
I predict that you'll be able to get near invoice pricing ($5500 or so off), plus $4-6K in rebates plus 0% for 60. At least thats what I'm banking on... otherwise I'll hang onto the '05 for another year or two!

Mopar21277,
Where you at in upstate .. im in Cohoes. And man i hope your right about he summer salesathon ... i have a new car buyers workshop to attend next tuesday the 21st of april at my local credit union. After that i'll make my final decision wether to waite till the summer salesathon or buy before the EPP expires at the end of this month.
Unfortunately the truck i'll be buying is in Long Island. The only Rams left with the sport package, including premium bucket seats, ( aka leather trim with stitched seats, dash, and steering wheel) with 3.92 rear ends are in long island.
Regardless i really am looking forward to getting some kind of good deal. If i can't get a good deal i will hold off. ill buy a POS beater before i get a $hi++ty deal on a multi thousand dollar vehicle. i work hard for my money.
Im not ready to **** it away.... : )
