2010 Hemi Hybrid
Honestly, typically a Hybrid runs $5-$6K more than the gasoline version and yeah it'll take an average of at least 8 years to break even. Most people will NEVER see that as we don't tend to keep our vehicles that long. If you're one of those people that keeps their trucks for about a decade, then go for it. As for the batteries, I know on a Honda Civic Hybrid they're like $2500 to replace so you had better have an extended warranty. Ultimately, my view on Hybrid technology is that it's great if you have the extra cash and want to go green but from a purely economic viewpoint, it doesn't make sense for 90% of the populace. When the technology is matured and priced accordingly, it'll be worth it but until then...sorry...not spending $5-$6K more just to be green.
Hell...look at how much Solar Panels cost to put on your house and how long it takes to recoup that investment! No thanks.
