Default Gear change question?

Well I bought the only SLT CC 1500 with center console they had on the lot that they would sell for $26000 but it came with the 3.21 rearend gears. I tow a 3600lb camper so the gears seam fine for now but in a year or two I think we will upgrade to a larger camper and at that time I would like to have the gears changed out to the 3.92's. Do you have to change anything else other than the gears? No speedo gear or reprogramming that needs to be changed? Thanks in advance!

Pretty much everything on the truck is computer controlled. You will most likely need a reprogram to make sure your speedo, and odometer read correctly. I don't believe any of these are mechanically run but i don't have a manual and cannot answer your with 100% confidence.

I'd be surprised if the speedo didn't get its signal from the wheel speed sensors. If that is the case, no reprogramming should be needed.

This is correct. Bountyhunter put in a set of 4.10's and did not need to recalibrate anything.

You should have the swap done by a good shop. If someone just throws them in without setting them up right the gears will eat themsleves apart.

I spoke with a local indy mopar specialist and he told me he could swap the gears out to the 3.92's for about $800 if the rearend and gears were the same as previous years. So is the rearend in the 09's the same as the 08 and earlier models?

Should be, only difference back there is the mounting hardware for the new rear coils.
