i want to get a set but after seeing the pics it almost looks like the steps could hit mailboxs from the street they seem to stick way to far out granted steps are for stepping on but i feel like i would wipe them out on something like a parked car.

They don't stick out enough to cause any issue, the mirrors are much further outward. They function fine, however, I feel remorse everytime I see how nice the OEM ones are in comparison. I will eventually replace them.

The Gladiators are adjustable. You've got a couple inches to play with. You can tuck them "under" the truck a little more, but I've got mine set all the way out and get complimented on them all the time..

If I had bought the OEM's, I would feel remorse every time I looked at how much I paid!!! The OEM's look great, but I don't think they're worth the $$$ premium over these aftermarkets... Do they even make a OEM board (not a tube)?

There should be no concerns about them sticking out too far. In fact, mine are out as far as possible and I would like it if they were out about another inch or so to get more of my foot on them.

However, all things considered, I am extremely happy with them.
