I think it is by an inch or so. However, looking at my new truck next to the SRT I think the different is with the cab. The cab is shorter. I think the hood and bed height are about the same as a 3rd Gen. It almost like they shaved an inch to an inch and a half off the cab height. The door glass is shorter by about 1.5", which supports the theory that they chopped the top. This hit me when driving it home yesterday, I felt like my head was closer to the top of the cab.

I do not care one way or another. I am guessing two reasons

1. Less wind resistance, they wanted the truck to perform better in the wind tunnel and this should help
2. Easier for customers to fit them into their garages

I also measured from the sill of the door to the top, my new 4th Gen is shorter in that respect as well.

 

the truck overall is smaller then the 3rd gen. I was beside the same model but a year older.. and it was a tad higher then mine

Mine is huge in the back seat especially Crew Cab. gives my 6 foot kid all kinds of room and they are comfortable back there. I might install the theater seating for them for fun.
The box is small....I am hearing too small for a fifth wheel..gee good thing I thought of that before I bought it.
