trash/debris in factory paint
Well, I decided to wash the truck today, this would be the first time since purchase. After washing I detailed the entire truck with detail spray. I noticed so many places where there are lumps in the paint in both the black and gray. To me the truck looks like it was painted in a rather dirty environment like some $250 a job paint shop. I have never seen anything like this in all the vehicles my wife and I have had. This is truly disappointing.
Has anyone else noticed trash/debris/lumps in their paint?

The driver side of mine has, what seems to be transport debris or overspray, its like orange peel, but you cant see it and you can clay bar it and it gets smooth. Its something i didnt notice when i bought and was detailing it last weekend and noticed it. The clay takes it out and gets down to what seems to be the factory clear, but def annoying to have to fix it. Im going to stop by the dealer just to see if they can do anything, worth a try.
I found one so far that can't be clay'd out, looks like it was cleared over. I havn't clay'd the whole truck yet though, I just noticed the hood was really bad when I washed it, so I took the clay too it. Not finished with my STi detail yet, and so the trucks' waiting until I can get some dedicated time. Not going to be fun, there's a ton of junk on the paint just from doing the hood, but I kind of expected that in transport etc.
After detailing the truck over the weekend i've come to the conclusion that the robots must have been high on paint fumes...i have some dripping on the driver side of my hood?!?! not cool

I am pretty sure we all know what to do but I wanted to see if it was a common thing amongst the 09's. It will probably be something we just learn to live with. Back in the late 90's we bought a brand new 2006 Stratus that had been a buy back car due to poor paint. The car had been repainted and offered at a discounted price. Not too long into ownership we had people asking us if the car had been repainted. They could see something about the car we just couldn't see. We finally traded it in on a new Dodge Avenger ES. That was my dream car at the time.
The dealer isn't some magical land that just washes away any problem. There's someone there that has to come up with a solution and implement it. I can tell you I know more about detailing than anyone at my dealership (someone used armorall on my dash!... ugh), so taking my truck in for something like this wouldn't net me anything. I wouldn't accept repainting and they're not going to replace my entire hood for 1 dot. I'm not even slighted by it really, I just think blanket statements like 'why discuss this on a forum, just take it to the dealer' is ignorant.
