anyway to lock spare?
you know i just got the truck so i havent looked yet. but is their a way to lock the spare somehow? im assuming that anyone with a ram "rod" can steal my spare by lowering it?
Lord... try a $15 coated cable-lock from Home Despot (if you really have grown attached to that "thing" masquerading as a Spare Tire)...
Since no one in their right mind will buy that "thing" from me - as I soon as I replace it with a "real tire" - I'd wait until someone DID steal it and then call the Insurance Co. (but that might take quite some time...)

Seriously: Anyone know the Offset and Backspace specs of the 17" Steel Wheel that comes inside that 235/85R17 "Limited Use" Spare ?? What size "real tire" will it handle on the 09 Ram without rubbing the rotors or the A-arm knuckle ??
I want to replace my "bulbous /bald little friend" with a respectable 20" spare, but as the local Dodge dealership quoted me $300 for a 20" Steel Wheel that "fits" (must be some special titanium alloy), I'm researching alternatives.

Well, good to hear that the folks at DC showed some "smarts" with the TRX4 in this regard. The "Big Horn Edition" (and presumably the Larado and standard SLT) received a "full-size" spare that laughingly reminds me of my old bald toothless narrow-shouldered Uncle at 235/85R17 that would probably be in danger in a parking lot, not to mention a 4x4 trail.
