I drive a lot of gravel, so big mudflaps and a hood protector are usually a good idea. It's a truck and it gets beaten like one, but I like to keep the paint attached to it.

What does this dent look like? Is it possible someone closed the hood slowly (first catch) then pushed on it to lock it into position?

It may only be the Sport model that has the Aluminum hood. I know mine does because a magnet does not stick to it and well I have a ding on the front already no idea where it came from, but reading this someone pushing to close could have been.

A magnet doesnt stick to my SLT hood either, but then again it doesnt stick to my stainless steel running boards or bed rails either.

Your right. I assumed sheet metal meant steel.

Speaking of parts with less weight the tailgate seems to weigh less than my old 05 or my SRT. Just judging by the amount of strength it takes to lift when closing.
