What about just using some goo gone or bug off? They both seem to work pretty well.

 

I usually use RainX bug remover. Spray it on and let it set. Bugs rub off pretty easy.

 

Simple Green does the trick for me. I use that **** on everything!

 

I just used Turtle Wax bug and Tar remover and it worked great. The great part was is that it has wax in it so it actually waxes your truck in those spots. This is good because it does not eat through the wax and it will make it harder for the bugs to stick to those spots again. I would still recommend washing your truck before and after applying the bug and tar remover.

 

Probably the most important thing about bugs is taking care of them right away. The longer you wait the harder they will be to remove. Additionally their innerds are like acid to your clearcoat. If the truck has not been properly waxed, do so! Clay bar, pro quality polishes and glaze sealents (optimum) will work best, and a good quality carnauba (I like p21s) ontop of that will add depth, warmth and protection. If this is done, all you should need is quick detail to remove bugs after trips.

In the process of cleaning (before wax) you can use Poorboys bug squash for the really stubbern ones (and so you don't have to scrub). Scrubbing is a bad idea, though if you use a microfiber towel you will reduce the chances of creating swirls.

Keep it waxed with carnauba once a month and you should only have to do deep cleaning once or twice a year, and the bugs will wipe off with no effort.
