Default why the missing screws in front fender wells?

ok, been wanting to ask this. (09 sport quad 4x4 hemi)

the front fenders are missing about 4-5 screws/fastners on each wheel well.(where the actuall fender bolts to the plastic well)the same spots, so i know they were left out intentially. why is that? it looks kind of trashy....

From working in an assembly plant... the answer is probably different styles of splash shields and or front facia's.

Chrysler as well as GM and Ford have been commonizing parts for a while now.

Chances are that the holes are for some other body style or option code.

Just my $.02 worth.

PS.

If any of you have any Caliber, Compass or Patriot questions let me know. I used to build them!

You are correct it is for the fender flares. On a related point, I think it's odd they give you the Two Tone and Fender Flares on the Laramie, but if you want the Monotone, you do not get a deduct for it.

I am sure they could color match them, but my understanding is that the fender flares are actually molded in color. I am not sure if that's true since I think it would be hard to match the paint color on the Laramie and the TRX4 colors, but that's what has been said here a few times.

a clip nut would slide over the holes to accept the screws. To put screws in there they would need to add the clips as well, which IMO would look even trashier.

From the pictures on the Dodge website, it looks like that will be available on the '10 Heavy Duty's. There's a pic of a deep water blue truck with matching fender flares... Looks awesome.

Do they charge extra for the two-tone on the Laramie?
