Thanks for sharing. I for one hope Chrysler does well in the future. Not just for the sake of my warranty, but for the hard working men and women who make such fine products. I do have to admit however that I'm especially proud of Ford for not taking bail out funding from the government. Although in the past I've been a Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep fan, I may need to give Ford first consideration when it comes time to replace our next vehicle.

The reason Ford has not needed bailout money is because their CEO, Alan Mulally, had either the foresight or just a pure stroke of luck (probably a little of both) to borrow billions of dollars before the market tanked. Once the market tanked the banks actually wanted to back out of the lines of credit, which of course they could not. If the auto market does not turn around significantly by the end of this year, they will need bailout money as well. So they aren't out of the woods yet.

Still, you have to give them kudos for being in the shape that they are. Their sales are reflecting the positive image it has given them over GM and Chrysler. If the market turns around quickly at the end of this year, Ford will come out smelling like roses.
