Default Sorry, we can't sell you a new truck........

Hi everyone,
After reading the many great reviews of the 09 Ram, I stopped at my local dealer today to test drive one. They have about 15-20 new Ram 1500's on the lot, I liked the blue truck! Well the sales guy tells me that they were selling new cars/trucks up until last night, but today they are no longer allowed to sell any new cars/trucks! He went so far as to say that they are to simply leave any new cars/trucks alone, and they will be removed from the dealer shortly, so no test drive was allowed. It was strange to hear a dealer say "sorry we can't sell you a new truck".

Because the dealer is one of those that is getting cut? Well if so, find you one who's not getting cut and buy one there!

Yes, it is one of the dealers getting cut. I am not sure if they were telling the truth or not, but they claimed that they had no clue where their stock was headed.

It was in the news. If the closing dealer didn't sell off their stock by 9 June, they cannot sell it anymore. It is part of the bankruptcy agreement.

Yeah, this has been on the news every night for weeks. Should have known June 9th was the deadline. If you would have seen that dealer one day earlier you could have likely bought the truck at a gigantic discount. A day late, and a dollar short... Sounds like something I would do.

Just go find the next closest dealer that wasn't on the cut list and tell him where the truck you want is.
