Most of the guys at Valvoline instant oil change are in high school or not too far out. Seem to be able to change the oil, but the last time I let them do a tranny flush (about 6 years ago) the kid hooked up the machine backwards.

I'm sure that unless you live in the middle of nowhere you will have a Dodge dealer near you once they figure out this Fiat deal. My town lost a family owned Dodge dealer that has been selling them for over 75 years. Word is tha they are going to reopen Dodge at the local Jeep/ Chrysler dealer. They want all the bands under one roof..i looked at a few of the closing dealers on the list and i didn't see a dealer that was selling all 3 closed. Mind you i got tired of looking and didn't look at everyone but thats the info i heard. If anybody gives a hoot...lol

The dealers that were before Congress on cspan had all three brands, the one in Mineral Wells,Texas had been there 90 some odd years, was the leading tax payer in the community, Mine was the ONLY Dodge dealer in the US with more sales last year than the year before, # 2 in sales this last May in the nation, is the only dealer on the west side of Ft,Worth, had a contract with Chrysler to build a brand new complex next year on the service road of loop 820, had allready purchased the land and was storing close to a hundred new Dodges on it Chrysler came to him a year and a half ago to take over Maniul Dodge and even paid him to do it?

Just lucky I still have 3 dealerships within 20 miles. Although the one that closed would do oil changes for only $4.50 if you brought in your own oil & filter and that was well worth it.

Jesus! Where in the hell do you live that's 250 miles from a dodge dealership? That's almost a state away in all directions!

How To Change Your Oil

Women:

1.Pull up to Jiffy Lube when the mileage reaches 3000 since the last oil change.
2.Drink a cup of coffee.
3.15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle.

Men:

1.Go to O'Reilly auto parts and write a check for 50 dollars for oil, filter, oil lift (AKA kitty litter), hand cleaner and scented tree.
2.Discover that the used oil container is full. Instead of taking it back to O'Reilly to recycle, dump in hole in back yard.
3.Open a beer and drink it.
4.Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.
5.Find jack stands under kid's pedal car.
6.In frustration, open another beer and drink it.
7.Place drain pan under engine.
8.Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
9.Give up and use crescent wrench.
10.Unscrew drain plug.
11.Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil; get hot oil on you in process.
12.Clean up.
13.Have another beer while oil is draining.
14.Look for oil filter wrench.
15.Give up; poke oil filter with Phillips screwdriver and twist it off.
16.Beer.
17.Buddy shows up; finish case with him. Finish oil change tomorrow.
18.Next day, drag pan full of old oil out from underneath car.
19.Throw oil lift (AKA kitty litter) on oil spilled during step 18.
20.Beer. No, drank it all yesterday.
21.Walk to 7-11; buy beer.
22.nstall new oil filter making sure to apply thin coat of clean oil to gasket first.
23.Dump first quart of fresh oil into engine.
24.Remember drain plug from step 11.
25.Hurry to find drain plug in drain pan.
26.Hurry to replace drain plug before the whole quart of fresh oil drains onto floor.
27.Slip with wrench and bang knuckles on frame.
28.Bang head on floor board in reaction.
29.Begin cussing fit.
30.Throw wrench.
31.Cuss for additional 10 minutes because wrench hit Miss December(1992) in the left boob.
32.Clean up; apply Band-Aid to knuckle.
33.Beer.
34.Beer.
35.Dump in additional 4 quarts of oil.
36.Beer.
37.Lower car from jack stands.
38.Accidentally crush one of the jack stands.
39.Move car back to apply more oil lift (AKA kitty litter) to fresh oil spilled during step 23.
40.Drive car.

I read this and can relate!!

I live in southern Utah. Chrysler closed 10 dealerships in our state, and seven of those ten dealerships were all seven of the closest dealerships to me. It is now 250 miles to Salt Lake City, or 230 miles to Las Vegas to get to a Dodge dealership. That makes it almost 500 miles between dealerships, with me being right in the middle of that 500 miles..
