I didn't think twice about there not being one. I figured that since plug and play harnesses from Tekonsha are so cheap that nobody bothered splicing them together any more.

$9.50 Plugs Dodge to Prodigy, P3 and Primus controllers

Mine didn't come with one. I pulled the one out of my Dak. before I sold it. It was a pain to get out of the Dak. Wouldn't want to do that again.

Any recommendations on a good brake controller. I have never used one, so would "the similar the better" be a good choice...Thanks

Without getting into brands, I would recommend a good digital proportional controller. Should be able to get one for < $100. Here is some basic info:

Tekonsha Prodigy and P3 are the best on the market. If you check ebay you can usually get for under $120.

Nice thing is that they have a lifetime warranty, so if it ever does die they give you a new one.

I've used a bunch of different controllers, but never any high ends. Went for a prodigy last year when I got a new 2500 for my company. Wow, I'll never mess around with the cheaper brands again. I was skeptical at first but trailer shop gave it to me for 100 bucks because someone returned it and it lost its warranty. easier to operate than cheaper ones and have more control.

Agree totally, I got the Prodigy at Camping world for $100 and it is worth every penny. As pointed out, it is backed by a solid no fuss warranty.

And the new P3 is a half step up from the old Prodigy for an extra $10. P3 stands for Prodigy version 3

I had the prodigy in my last truck and it worked flawlessly until one day it wouldn't fire up. Had a new replacement in 3 days.

The Ram has a P3, which I havn't gotten to try out yet, but all the controls are on the front and it's got a nicer display.
