Default Truck Bed Step

Tall Truck, Stiffening Knees, Need to Climb into Truck Bed...

Has anybody seen the type of Truck Bed Step that used to be highlighted in Ford Truck Ads ?? (Not the Tailgate Ladder, but the Bed-side Retractable Step...) It would seem great to have a hidden/retractable step mounted behind the drivers-side rear wheel, that allows a booster step onto the bumper corner and then into the truck bed. I've thought of the Step that integrates into a Trailer Hitch Plug, but that would require the tailgate to be up and that I lift all cargo over it. This would work, but I'm searching for the alternatives.

Anyone seem what I'm describing ??

@buckarcher: Maybe, if it can be mounted BEHIND the wheel. The "local" Cabelas is about 50 miles other side of town, so might make a trip over there this weekend (website doesn't have much additional info). Of course, every trip to Cabelas gets me and my wallet in Trouble...

@oldjeep: Looks interesting - AND they do have a model listed specific to the 09 Ram !! Looks like it mounts to the Frame-End / Hitch Crossmember / Bumper Mount using the existing bolts, and then stays inline with the Frame Rail. That might be quite good - keeps it out of way of the Spare. I wonder how low it hangs - what it does to the Exit Angle of the Rear Bumper. It would be a real shame to hook it on the road or the hillside when out on one of the "less-tame" trails...

Hey!! I did find a 3rd alternative after more time with Google:
http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Pow...ep_bedstep.htm
Looks pretty nifty, but no details on where it bolts nor if any 09 Ram specific fit. And it might also have a Exit Angle clearance problem...

Looks like there is one for that 3rd one you listed, but only if you have single exhaust.

If you have a torch and welder anything is possible. They are universal and everything I have ever had universal required at least a little fab work. Good luck.
