Default Brake controller mount

I mainly tow my boat, which has surge brakes but occasionally have to tow a dolly or trailer with electric brakes. There's really no good place to mount a controller in the Ram, where I can reach the manual lever and see the display easily.

Saw one of these little gizmos that they sell to mount GPS, Ipods, cellphones, etc using a cup holder as the base.

Bought this one and used just the cup holder piece. Cut the connector flat with the top of it and screwed the P3 bracket down with a couple sheet metal screws.

Fits great, still need to plug the harness into the truck. This way I can just toss it in the center console or glovebox when I don't need it.

LOL, there's 2 left there and another couple in each door. How many do you need?

I can't reach the ones in the door easily while driving. The 3 front ones hold my drink, my wife's drink, and my phone. That middle one won't hold a tall drink because it is up to close too the dash area. The door pockets get stuffed with all kinds of stuff on a camping trip. The times I would need my controller are the times I need the cup holders the most.

Never heard of attaching a brake controller that way. They need to be firmly attached, if they bounce around at all - you won't like the results.

Not sure how tall you are, I am short, 5'9". I'll have to get a pic of where I mounted mine. It is just under the ignition on the knee panel. My prodigy can be mounted at an angle. It is still within reach for me.

6ft. Hard for me to see there and my leg would be knocking into it.
