I don't see anything in my manual about this subject.

I don't use it either and I've had no problems.

It is the recirc function. Not using it will fix the problem. Otherwise you can toy with turning it on/off at various times to avoid it.

I had this same problem with my 06 Charger at about 600 miles, due to always using the A/C on rec. mode. I put some lysol on the A/C intake and ran is for a few minutes. The smell was gone. I never had the problem again and I never used the rec. mode again.

Is the A/C intake at the base of the windshield? Is the Lysol in a spray can? I have the same problem and I have been running recirc almost all the time.

On the Charger it's in the engine compartment, but it also has a cabin filter which the Ram does not. On the Ram I would think it's most likely underneath the dash on the pass. side..

I run the recirculate all the time and my trucks smells, well, like a new truck. I don't want to have this issue, so I am going to run without recirc now and then. I smoke, but not in the truck. Sometimes I notice people that smoke in their vehicles have that funky odor.

I just talked to the service department and they said their fix is to put air freshener in it and run it in recirculate for awhile.

Grrrrr.

LOL, ya take it to the dealer that is that solution all the time for a problem that plagues all call companies as long as you use you air or recirc all the time, the idea is to just get it cool then turn it to regular air that way you won't have the problem. Or waste a day at the dealer while they spray febreeze into all your vents and intakes.
