I'm just about to wrap up the purchase of an 09 Dodge Ram SLT crew cab this week. Just waiting for a dealer trade to get here and do the paper work. Been busy researching tonneau covers, step bars and the Mygig install/options.

I've searched through the forum and either I've completely missed it or was overwhelmed by all the info you guys have contributed here.

My truck will come with the tech package (rear sensors and Alpine speakers) and a sunroof, not sure if that matters. It doesn't have Mygig, but I'm wanting to add it. I don't want nav as I have a Garmin. So I'm looking to get the REN version and lockpick for DVD playback while driving. I think I got that part down. With this set up. Can I then install a rear roof mount LDC screen and connect this to the Mygig unit for DVD playback?

Would purchasing the Mygig REN, lockpick and dvd flip down screen all I need to have DVD playback on both the Mygig screen and DVD screen for the rear?

Sounds like you've got it planned out correctly. I ordered the Nav-TV unit instead of the lockpick because people have been having audio problems with them. Also the Nav-TV unit will allow you to update it through USB so you don't have to purchase a new unit everytime an update is made.

 

I've been reading up on the audio issues with Lockpick and the slow response for support from the company. I'm going to look into the Nav-TV as well. Haven't had a a chance to look into this option in detail, but I'm assuming I'll need similiar components to do my install.

 

Call and ask to speak with Suzanne or go to their forums and get her direct line. You'll need to order the AllGig-USB with optional A/V harness. It's more expensive than the lockpick but seems to be worth it. I installed mine this past weekend and had no issues. I plan to add headrest monitors soon so I've already ran RCA cables from the radio back in the center console.

 

Appreciate the info. This will be project #3. Tonneau cover, side steps, and then this. Got all the paperwork done yesterday and just waiting for the truck to arrive and sign the papers. Suppose to be here today as they did a trade from a dealer 8 hours away.
Need to get a tonneau cover located locally before our trip next week as well...no pressure.
