Default So who else has broken the plastic piece off the top of their tailgate?

So is that plastic piece on the top of the tailgate the poorest designed cheap piece of crap in the world, or what? All you have to do is lightly brush against it when you are loading something in the truck, and it gets peeled right off, and breaks the plastic tabs that hold it on. What a **** poor design that is. And the tailgate looks stupid without it on their. To top things off the nearest Dodge dealer is 250 miles away, so its not like I'm just going to drive down the block and buy a new one to break off again, the next time I decide to load something in the back of my truck. I guess I'll just drive my truck without that piece on there, and the tailgate can slowly fill up with dirt and crap from the open holes in the top of the tailgate. I'll wait till I'm ready to sell the truck to replace that broken part waiting to happen.

there is a rapid response for that issue.. i took my truck to the dealership and they fixed it months ago before it became a problem for me.

Good to know. My son-in-law knocked mine loose, but I just popped it back on. Do you know what the rapid response was?

I think a couple of people have had LineX/Rhino go over those plastic pieces to help hold them on and protect them a little.

the rapid response was to put 3 m tape on the leading edge. it wont hold up worth a damn if you actually use the truck for work....

The plastic Dodge liner actually prevents this from happening.

crod is spot on about the RRT, not going to help when pulling out a 2x4 or sheet of plywood.

If you have the factory bedliner it will cover the edge and it will not come loose.
