Default CAI sound?????

I recently installed an airraid CAI fo my ram crew cab. At first it had a deep growl, but of late seems to sound more and more like the original intake. It still sucks the air in nice and smoothes out the shifting, but the deep growl that I loved isn't there. Do they quiet down when you drive a couple hundred miles or am I just getting used to the sound.

When I want to accelerate fast but not floor it, the tach would shoot up to 4k rpms and kind of stay there. Now it does it in a more smoother fashion, I guess it also only does it on the 1st to 2nd gear shift.
