Default gap between cab and bed

My truck has about an inch an half gap between the cab and bed, my brother n laws twin truck to mine has about 2 inches but my neighbor has a 09 lonestar that is less than an inch, just noticed it out in the yard this weekend, I really like the tight fit on the neighbor's truck, was kinda surprized at the difference, do they just drill and install were ever it sets down on assy. line?

There may be a slight adjustment. My neighbors bed is offset to one side, its only noticable when your looking down the side of the truck. Mine has it slightly, but not nearly as bad.

yea, mine looks perfect till I noticed how tight his fit, the rubber inbetween the two is touching on his, no big deal just surprized at the tolerance that must be allowed.

I never noticed the rubber inbetween until you said sometime about it, yeah you would think that they would bring the bed up close enough so at least the rubber is making contact with the bed, because I assume that is why it is put in between the too, so crap doesn't get in there.

Mine has about a half inch gap between at the rubber strip... thank goodness. A guy was loading a lawnmower in the bed and accidently popped the clutch as he eased up. Pushed a dent about a half inch in the bed, if it went any further it would've touched the cab.

I decided not to fix the dent. It didn't hurt the linex and its symmetrical to the bed, it actually looks like it was made to be there!

Did you park them in the same spot when you checked the gap?

Not exactly, my inlaws was right beside mine in drive way, neighbors was in his drive, they were all on level ground, neighbors truck is white so the line between cab and bed is dark in contrast to white paint, really looks good with such a tight fit, his is the only one that the rubber touches

I have a noticeable gap of about 3/4" between rubber and cab. Should I have the dealer check it out? Why put the rubber if its not doing anything?
