Default wheel sizes. need help.

i was looking for new wheels but i'm thinking of downsizing from 20in to 17in. i plan on lifting it down the road but all the lifts i have looked at said 18" or 20" wheels. anyone know if they will work as long as they have a backspacing of at least 4.5". any help would be appreciated.

Well if you're thinking of more than a spacer lift (ie. leveling kit) I think most lifts are saying 18" or 20". I think there's clearance issues with the new knuckle assy (I think that's what it's called). I have seen one on the net that's lifted and says he's running 17's, but I don't remember where I saw it. I'll try to find it.

I've got a 6" Superlift and I'm running 17's.... required a little modification. There's a little spur that had to be ground down... barely ground down - like an 1/8 of and inch maybe. Called Superlift and asked em what would happen if it "went away" :-P and the answer was "not much".
