Duluth Superior area is much more scenic, Thunder Bay itself has not much to offer but if you travel into Canada a bit more, take the Trans Canada Highway east not west you will see some scenic routes. Don't let people jive you on the gas, I live across the border from Detroit and gues what gas prices are fairly close now because of exchange rates so don't panic just make sure you exchange your money at the exchange booths at the border or a bank cuz you won't get what you deserve, only 8 cents difference so a lot of places don't pay it.

Well, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa we are paying around 2.65 a gallon. I know you were talking to Instrument Tech, but thought I'd let you ponder..

Okay remember in Canada the gallon is larger than the gallon in the US. So remember to calculate that in when you do it.4.8Quarts in a UK/Canadian gallon There is only 4 quarts in a US gallon. So when you come to Canada and well you will buy you gas in litres you will have some more converting to do I am not gonna do it all. Remember too our gas the the rating are different the lowest we have is 87 octane, then midgrade is 91 like I use and 97 is the highest. So you might wanna try our gas and try the beer too, but park the truck for the night if you plan on having more than a few cuz our beer has higher octane also LOL. Good luck and have fun.

Live in Newfoundland.

What's funny is that we have 3 major oil rigs off our coast producing oil and we have our own refinery, and we are one of the highest in Canada for our gas prices. Actually we just had another increase yesterday, now 110.5/liter.

That's what happens whe you pay HST. Also, didn't the provincial government start regulating the cost of gas like two years ago? Just curious........sucks though for sure!

Kinda started regulating it, they have a group "Consumer For Fair Gas Prices" But that's just a farce, nothing fair about them at all. They use this formula for calculating the prices. Not sure how it really works. Price of oil goes up, the gas at the pumps go up, oil drops, they keep the price at the pumps the same, or drop it a fraction of what they put it up.

Same here in the States, oil goes up $1 a barrel gas goes up a dime. Oil goes down a $1 a barrel gas stays the same, then goes back up a $1 then gas goes up another dime.

Thanks for the info guys, im sure I'll get along with the locals. I hear they are nice people.
