2nd Oil Change 5000 Miles?
I got another (2nd) change oil message yesterday. I already had it changed at 2500. Now again at 5000, I get another message? Seems wrong to me. I will check the level and reset it. Agree or disagree?......Thanks

2nd Oil Change 5000 miles
According to the truck manual, this light will activate every 6,000 miles OR 6 months. I am not sure what the time frame is for between your oil change, but could it be due to 6 months versus the number of miles driven?

The oil change intervals in the computer are determined by the way you drive. Drive the truck hard and the computer will give you short intervals. My message comes on about every 4500 miles. Anyway I don't go by it, I just change it every 5000 miles whether it says to or not. If the manual says 6000 then I think 5000 is adequate especially with synthetics
