Oh ya in Canada, you fart in your car and your insurance goes up. But comp claims like windshield and stuck that happens when not driving and not hit by cars usually you are allowed a few of those every couple years.

Had a repair estimate completed today, $625 and 4 days without my vehicle. So regardless of insurance, $500 + out of my pocket. Looks like I will do my own body work this time.

The majority of good insurance companies won't raise your rate if the total of the claim they pay out is under $500. Some use the $500 mark whether they pay that much out or not. It really just depends on your insurance carrier. This would be a good question to ask them before you have a problem. Depending on the answer, you may want to shop around.

I had this one insurance company go up on my rates because they said my credit score went down!!!!
