A 3000 Mile + week
The trip I bought the Ram for happened last week, just got back last night. The 5 of us taking my son, his stuff and car out to college.
I'd had the truck in again for the flaky ABS issue and it popped up again before I left, so I just unplugged a wheel sensor and everything was happy. Only other issue was that the cruise control didn't always want to enable, didn't notice that until the trip back when the trailer was empty.
Truck drove like a dream, milage was about 13 loaded at 80mph and 17 unloaded at 80MPH. Got 22 mpg in yellowstone with no trailer at about 45 MPH all day.
Towed the loaded dolly out to Bozeman the long way (about 2000 miles - Badlands, wall drug, Mount Rushmore, crazy horse, ***el cave, custer, devils tower, yellowstone, lewis and clark caverns and a couple other places I can't think of at the moment). Made good use of the National park pass last week. and home empty (1000 miles).
Towed like a champ loaded and unloaded at 70-85 mph. Didn't have to monkey with the air pressure at all when empty, I think having the spare on the tounge helped keep the wheels on the road.
Only exciting moment was when we decided to take the Needles Highway through the tunnels. Had to try to back out when a bus came in the long one at the same time. Tow dolly didn't like backing up much. The narrow tunnel only gave me about 3" of clearance.
Spent this morning getting rid of 3000 miles worth of bugs with the pressure washer. Wish I'd taken a picture, couldn't see much of the chrome or white on the front of the truck.

I just got back from going from Iowa to Thunder Bay and back. Ran like a champ. Got about 21 mpg to Canada and back to Duluth. Then Duluth back to Cedar Rapids I got 18.5 mpg in the interstate. Very impressed with mileage. My dakota never got anything like that for mileage. And a big 10-4 on the bugs. 1600 miles worth, lots of scrubbing.
Maybe it's someones ex-girlfriend.
Sounds like a good trip. Hope your son enjoys college. Is it his first semester?
