Default How to prep plastic chrome 20"s for paint

I heard the best way is to lightly scuff the chrome and then primer, primer, paint, paint. I really want to black out these. Any other ideas and help would be appreciated. I really dont want to muff these up. Thanks.

I had mine done, so I'm not sure exactly....but it was more than a "light" scuff. He sanded them down pretty good before primer.

Can you post some pics of what the rims look like after you painted them. I was considering getting them painted as well and was curious to see what they looked like.

Those rims look really good. Did you have to pull the tires or were they painted when they were on the truck?

The wheels were off the truck. He broke the top bead of the tire too.

i saw a tip on painting rims while the tires were still on, place recipe cards in the lip all the way around the rim to protect the tires from gettin sprayed...
