Default Actual Cost

I know there is at least a few people on the forum that work for Dodge or have access to their books. Can anyone tell me what the actual dealer cost is for a 2009 Dodoge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Big Horn Edition. MSRP for the truck I am looking at is $39,800. Someone with at least a ballpark would be appreciated!

Are you going to try and bargain with that information?

he should!

what your looking for is the dealer cost...

but that can be misleading also...

exaple.. dealer cost is 32,000 while the sticker is 37,000 (guess)... even if they sell of for 32,500 they COULD be still be making more than $500 on the truck

because of incentives...

so if a dealer buys 100 rams and sells them all.. chrysler will give them the ram even below cost... thats why dealers buy huge lots and "push" certain vehiclkes... like pt cruisers or whatever dodge is trying to sell that month...

my point... even if you find out the dealer cost price.. they still COULD sell it below that price and make a profit while acting as in they are losing money... sometimes they will try to sell you some extra warranty to pretend to get some of the money they lost of the vehicle... all while making aprofit on both

just ask your dealer so show him the truck cost.. if he doesnt say thanks and walk away... call on the phone a few days later.. ask a salesman if hell show you the dealer cost if you come in... try that at differnet dealers and different salesman... someone will bite

Ask to see the invoice. It will show the MSRP and dealer cost at the very bottom. In the middle toward the bottom will be PP (Friends/Supplier discount) and EP which is the employee price. EP will be less than dealer. Here is an invoice for an 04 Jeep to show where to look.

You might want to check out www.truecar.com. The site includes: sticker price, factory invoice, average paid, and actual dealer cost.

It's an interesting website, which I've used quite often...
