Well I got a REN radio from a tech that worked at a dealership who bought it off someone who upgraded he decided he didn't want to go thru the trouble so he sold it to me. This is a build date March 09 REN with satellite. I installed all working even sat. hardest thing to do was take that chrome ring everyone hates around the shift area anyway I decide I want to get the uconnect so i buy the module and kit to install. Dam gotta have it starscannned so I take it to dealer supposed to be half hour 52 bucks. Cool. 7 hours later my poor wife took it in they still cannot get it to work. So they did all the other updates who knows if they did those right. Anyway so I go to the dealer that I bought the module. lI was gonna have the place i bought it at but i got a recalll and alll the rrts i called my dealer they said no prob half hour plus thetime to do the other recalls and rrts. Okay well I take this still none working uconnect that I got charged over 100 already and its not working and they wanted more. So the dealership I bought the module at had some difficulty it was there all day again but this time they got it working, they had to remove all the programming that was done by the other dealership and reloaded it all over and it worked. All they charged me was half hour and another half hour because I installed it myself and after they could not get it to work they needed to check the wiring installation so during lunch I took the dash apart for them so I could save money cuz I into this well i still havent even paid half the cost of the radio new. So picked it up, put it together, after 3 times it gets easy. Paired mine and my wifes phone and it works nicely, its so cool if you are talking on the phone and get into the truck as soon as you put the key in the radio takes over the phone call.I did not run the mic as per instructions would look ugly up there and I left it loose to try it it other places to see where it works the best...anyway the whole think I was trying to get to is the dealers are not trained properly on some of these new cars and trucks. I think the one dealer has only the mobile star scan which I hear is slow. and you have to wait like and hour at a time for a download? Well I think the original dealer should be paying me back. I drive 50 miles out there for oil changes...no more since they are over priced 49 for a HEMI oil change, the one I went to and got it working 29 plus 3 bucks for the extra oil. I think I will start using some good oil now get off the pump oil, I have 4600 kms and had 2 oil changes already, the first one at 2000km because I always do that with new cars...don't ask. But I had not planned on changing the oil for another couple thousand. Oh well it was sorta free, they never charged me for it but they did charge me for something they did not complete. Called him today he said he had 600 labour into it, I said would be cheaper to train your techs. I encourage anyone else who has problems with dealers not be able to do these types of things properly..dealer doesn't want to pay for training or what I don'tknow I know it's BS we pay for nothing. We all have to complain to customer service even if they don't charge you, my wife was stuck for 7 hours.
