Many many mufflers out there to choose from that are single in/dual out.I had a Magnaflow XL 24 inch installed with pipes exiting behind both rear tires and stainless rolled tips installed for $320 at a exhaust shop.Did it while I waited.

I read that the dual exhaust will yield you higher mpg vs the single exhaust, is this true?

Not really anything noticable.

There should be a kit available to go from single to duals from the factory. Due to the bankruptcy, it was not released. I would guess that it may still be coming through Mopar as an accessory. The 2010 stuff hasn't be released yet so we'll have to wait a bit longer to see for sure. You don't have to have the cutouts in the bumper to use the kit. The tailpipes have a ball type connection so you can adjust the height. Same as on the stock Sports and Laramies.

Depending on what it sounds like when you put it on, you'll probably go down in MPG, at least at first. After I put the Mufflex 14 on mine, my MPGs dropped at least 2 MPG because I was always getting on it a little more off the line, or killing the MDS to hear the sound. Fortunately the newness of the muffler is wearing off, so I'm starting to drive normal again.

Have you looked under the truck, are the hangers for the duals under there? You might be able to get the factory end pipes that go out the back, buy a Mufflex, and be done.

My truck has single exhaust and my wife's has dual. I have found we get the same mpg on the hwy but in town mine with single is 1-2 mpg better.

could be the increase in backpressure actually helps make a little extra torque, that is a old racers trick, smaller tail pipes to increase backpressure a bit, usually bumps torque a bit

Yes we have the same gears. Her truck has a Leer hard bed cover also. We both have 20s with the same wheels & tires. I had the dealer swap my factory 17s for some factory 20s when I bought mine.

My truck has the hanger for the driver side. I saw it when I installed the Mufflex.
