Installed my 18" Mufflex on Tuesday this week and have not noticed any difference with Fuel Saver light.

My theory is since the exhaust is more apparent now, you may have a tendency to take your foot off the accelerator enough to keep the sound down a little. In doing so, you are taking torque off the engine and enabling "Fuel Saver" to kick in more.

Just my $.02

No change here either. Works the same as before.

Uh, it's making a bit more torque and horsepower, so it isn't as much of a strain to keep you going. That's the only thing that makes sense.

I don't have the light, but I do have the 18" Magnaflow. I agree with Monsoon. I am more aware of the sound and reduce throttle to avoid the loud at times.

I hardly think a change of a few HP/torque is going to make the MDS come on more. I don't even know if there is an increase in HP/torque with a muffler swap. Nobody has dynoed for proof.

But then again, maybe there is a huge increase in HP.

I can't get over the amount of variables in the situation.

Nah,nothing to do with taking your foot off the accelerator, driving the same, big differance with the fuel saver coming on all the time..
