Default HID Relay question.

I am looking to put some HID's on my fogs. Please spare me the safety talks, as I am well aware of possible issues.

If I were to get an HID harness, will there be any issues? I don't want to run HIDs on the factory fog light wiring.

Specifically, the HID harness uses one of the factory fog light plugs to trip the relay, but leaves the other side's plug unhooked. If one were to do this will there be a "light out" message?

I don't have an answer to your "light out" question, but why are you running a separate relay? If you want to avoid a possible "light out" message, purchase 2 relays and just hook up one, if you get the reading, then use the other relay. The factory power to the fogs will just be used to trip the relays to switch them on.

I'm not running relays on my headlights and so far no problems since I got my cancelers, but you may need those for the fogs also.

I thought of running two relays, one per fog light plug, but since relays use such a small amount of power I am thinking a light out message will appear.

For example, a relay will only need 1.6W while the fogs normally draw 25-55w a peice? I am not sure of the wattage on the fogs.

After reading, reading, and more reading, here is what I have come up with. I am going to make my own relay and hook it up according to every HID kit directions and see if I get a bulb out notice. If I do get a notice, I am either going to keep the factory lights in the plugs, since the HIDs will have their own relay, or put resistors in the plugs to simulate that the bulbs are still there.

The way I am going to to run the relay is like this.
